This was reviewed during YONECO’s trophy finals held at Kankawo community ground in Balaka district where they wanted to find the winner of the competition.
According to YONECO’s project officer for Balaka Patrick Makonde, the trophy has helped in raising awareness to the community members on child rights and responsibilities whereby they are expecting reduction in some cases that hinder children in the community to access their education.
“As an organization we thought of launching this trophy in Kankawo education zone in order to bring awareness to people in the community so that we can create a conducive environment for our learners in most primary schools across the district. I should also thank all the schools who participated in this competition for their commitment and they should take the message to their respective communities,” Makonde explained.
In his remarks T/A Chanthunya who graced the occasion said that the trophy came at the right time because it has helped the people in the community a lot and there will be reduction of school dropouts as was the case before.
